The Investment Plan

The City has developed a $41 million plan to keep water flowing across Oak Park Heights.

The water system supports residents and businesses every day. Together, these investments will help Oak Park Heights continue to meet or exceed state and federal water quality standards, protect public health, and prepare for future needs.

  • Watermain Improvements: This includes replacing aging pipes, extending service where needed, and improving connections that help keep water moving across the system. These upgrades help ensure every home and business is supported by a strong water network.

  • Water Tower Maintenance: Maintaining these structures helps ensure consistent water pressure, supports fire protection, and ensures dependable service well into the future.

  • Water Quality and PFAS Treatment Plant: The plan includes a PFAS removal water treatment facility to protect the water supply and address future risks.

By investing now, the City can avoid expensive emergency repairs and disruptions, spread costs over time, and keep the financial impact on residents as low as possible.

The Planning Process

Over the past several years, Oak Park Heights has taken important steps to plan for safe and reliable drinking water. The City has monitored water quality and worked closely with the Minnesota Department of Health.

Ongoing communication: The City regularly shares updates about PFAS and water safety compliance through the annual Consumer Confidence Report, newsletters, the City website, community events, and direct conversations with residents.

Our promise to residents: As planning continues, the City is committed to keeping residents informed and providing opportunities to learn more and ask questions.
